Google is building the fastest internet connection

As you know the Giant search engine will continue to find what is best for internet. Couple days ago they test their superfast internet service to about half million people.

Google said it intends to build in a few trial communities a fiber-optic network that can transmit 1 gigabit of data per second — fast enough to deliver a high-definition movie in five minutes. Typical cable and phone broadband services transmit 5 megabits per second, which can mean hours for such a download.

"We don't think we have all the answers — but through our trial, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to the shared goal of delivering faster and better Internet for everyone," the company said in an announcement on its blog. It says it wants software developers to come up with applications, including "uses we can't yet imagine."

Again, technology is awesome. i believe that Google could find something that never imagine before.just like everybody says " just google search" that means google always has the answer for anything.

Thanks to this terrific new app, iPhone just got a little bit smarter and a lot more helpful. the Siri app only went live in the iTunes App Store this morning. Best of all, it's free.

Siri is meant to help you plan things, and it's off to a very promising start. Bark out, "I need a taxi" and Siri will oblige with nearby options. You can ask it to remind you to send flowers to your spouse on Valentine's Day, and the app will make sure to send an email to jog your memory. When I asked where I could get my car fixed, Siri served up several suggestions "within walking distance" of up to two miles from my current location. (As with numerous other iPhone apps it takes advantage of GPS.)

Answers arrive within the Siri app from various Web partners. TrueKnowledge.com tackled the skyscraper query, for example, and the weather forecast came from WeatherBug. Other partners include Citisearch, OpenTable, Taxi Magic, Rotten Tomatoes, Yahoo Local, and Yelp. Voice recognition is handled by Nuance.

Q: There's no USB or SD slot. How do I get my photos, video and music files into the iPad?

A: Through iTunes and your PC or Mac computer. Think of the iPad as a giant iPhone or iPod (which of course, it is). Apple hasn't changed the transfer system. You need to connect the iPad to your computer and sync the video, music and photos through iTunes.

cell phones carriers in prices war

Verizon and AT&T, the two largest cell phone carriers in the U.S. are gearing up for a price war over cell phone service fees.and frankly, it's long overdue: Consumers have been radically overpaying for their cellular service since the dawn of time, with carriers protecting those rates through a series of mergers that has left the U.S. with just four major networks to choose from. Until now, only T-Mobile has seemed interested in trying to be competitive when it comes to pricing while the rest of the market has sat on its collective hindquarters.

Verizon fired the first volley on Friday, announcing major cuts to its unlimited family talk and text plan, from $230 to $150 per month, and its unlimited voice plan from $100 to $70 per month. Other plans combining unlimited talk and text are also going down in price. The new rates go into effect today.

AT&T is following suit, lowering the prices of its individual unlimited plans by $30 as well, putting the two companies back into pricing parity. that's not changing? Prices for anyone with a minutes-based plan, or users who have a limited plan with a set number of minutes a month. I don't have any information on what percentage of users that might comprise, but I imagine it's still the vast majority of them.

The question now becomes if and when these price cuts will spill over to the rest of the market, particularly in the fiercely competitive world of smart phone plan pricing. So far the carriers have been reluctant to start hacking away at these highly lucrative plans -- although a few iPhone competitors undercut the cost of that phone's plan by a few bucks a month as an enticement.

The other concern raised by CNN in the linked story is what will now happen to smaller players like Leap and MetroPCS, all of which are known for rock-bottom pricing and the primary movers in forcing the big carriers' prices down. Without much room to cut, will we see them try to squeeze a few more pennies out and skirt with financial losses? Or could some of these players actually be forced out of business?
